Events & Activities
Despite everything that has happened, we have finished our year as best as circumstances
allowed. The last quarter was quite sluggish through no fault of our own. Given all the
challenges we’ve had throughout, we had a decent year. Things could always have been better
and I am proud to be part of this team that has given their maximum towards achieving a
common goal. The challenges will continue and may even intensify so we have to be prepared
to take these head on. The business environment does seem to be gradually improving, albeit
slow. I am sure each of one of you will continue to give your best efforts. I wish every one of
you best wishes and luck for the next 12 months.
I am constant communication with Group Management and they assure us of their continued
support. I will leave you with a quote from Jimmy Dean in which he said “I can’t change the
direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”.
Let’s keep progressing!
Regards
Asif Vorajee
General Manager
Dear Colleagues
I was looking at my past messages to you all and the one that really stood
out was the one at the end of our last Financial Year. What a tumultuous
year we have all had since that point. No one could have even envisioned
the devastating effects of Covid-19 on our lives, to varying extents. I am
sure you, like me, have your own personal stories of how this vicious virus
as affected your life, maybe even stories of unfortunate tragedy, and our
thoughts and prayers continue to be with those suffering and affected.
This has become the new normal now, if you can call it a normal. Please
continue to exercise caution and follow MOH guidelines and SOPs. Most
importantly, get vaccinated!

Tell us about yourself & how long have you been working with MTQ?
Myself John George, Graduated in Diploma mechanical Engineering and
I am from Kanyakumari, which is the southernmost point of peninsular India, and the meeting point
of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean; I have started my
welding carrier since 2006. I have worked various field petrochemical and oil & gas industries in
India. I have joined MTQ on 2011 as a welder. I would like to take this moment to thank MTQ for
giving me the opportunity to proven my skills.
What do you like most of your job?
I like to work with challenging jobs different tasks apart from welding.
Covid-19 Pandemic has significant impact on work environment. We accomplish most task remotely without
significant drop in productivity or quality. Social distancing, wearing mask, attending meeting through
virtual, limited in gathering all the changes made life complex.
What advice would you give to recent new hires?
I would like to advice new joiners that don’t hesitate to do the mistakes because mistakes are the proof that
you are learning, and try to utilize the opportunity once its knot at you don’t ever miss. Also, I will set myself
an example on this instant, I started my journey in MTQ as a welder today I am standing as welding
supervisor the thing is when I was working as a welder always I will come forward to do any kind of tasks.
And every time is used to focus on the improvements apart from my routine activities.
Who inspires you?
Growing up, my father taught me many valuable lessons, specifically: to be kind to everyone and to never
give up. These simple but important lessons have shaped my life in its entirety.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is
necessary.
What is your greatest fears?
My greatest fear is my family. They are the most important people in my life and I can't imagine
what life would be like without them. They always help me when I'm having trouble and always support me.
How do you balance your career and family?
I have the full day to myself and I want to be productive by helping company grow. I am very organized
and I plan everything I do. In this moment I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate my wife; she is
my backbone, who take care of my kids and she never keep me in worries about family. My strong habit is I
will never take the work pressure to home and will not reveal my work stress with family members. This helps
me to easily find a balance between family and work.
What is your favorite thing in life and why?
To be in a leading position in oil and gas industry and share my experience for company growth.
