GM Welcome Message
The efforts of many governments and authorities as well as healthcare staff worldwide to fight this
pandemic deserve the greatest respect. To protect you and your families, our business, and the
communities we live and work in, we have already announced the measures we are currently taking.
By doing so, we will live up to our social responsibility to prevent the virus spreading further, while
ensuring the business continuity that supports and enables our customers and the economies we
operate in. I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have made this possible and to you
for complying with these arrangements and continuing to show great dedication in your day-to-day
work. If we take these precautions, I am confident that we will manage this situation together. We
have devised comprehensive crisis plans, we have the discipline, and we have the financial strength
to manage through this period. Primarily, however, we have you. Moreover, all of you have proven
repeatedly that we stand together and deliver outstanding performance when faced with complex
challenges.
Our business is in good shape for the next few months at least as the positive momentum of the third
quarter of FY20 had continued in the fourth enabling us to have an amazing FY20. This has helped
us in having a solid foundation with a strong capital and liquidity base and good order book.
Watching our performance in the fourth quarter, it has become clear to me that our new strategy of
introducing new products is not only an important prerequisite for growth and sustainable
profitability, but that it has enhanced our flexibility and resilience especially in unfavourable
situations due to volatility of oil prices that has really shaken up the whole industry. We are far better
equipped for a difficult phase in the next year now than we were just a year ago but let’s not be
complacent of many challenges that will come our way over the next 12 months.
Our clients must be at the centre of our considerations. Right now, they require our advice, our
expertise and our solutions in order to overcome their short-term challenges. In this kind of situation,
especially we can prove to our clients that we stand by them when times are tough and fulfil our
obligations.
Thank you once again for all your hard work. Let us help one another and look out for one another.
The Management and Group Board will do everything in their power to support you in this.
Best regards,
Asif Vorajee
General Manager
