Dear Colleagues
We’ve closed our financial year in March 2022, and I am pleased to announce that despite
having a slow start to the year, particularly Apr-Jun 2021, we managed to catch up and finish
close to revenue that we achieved in FY21 (ending March ’21). For best part of the year, we had
Covid-19 affecting business generally and what we achieved would not have been possible
without every one of you and your contribution.
We are all seeing that inflation is rising and that means costs for everything is rising and this
has affected profitability negatively. This is one of our biggest challenges now and will be for
FY23. I believe collectively we need to tighten our belts to mitigate this problem and be wise in
where we spend.
Looking ahead, FY23 (April ’22 to March ’23) looks quite exciting as well as a challenge. The
market seems to be going up for Drilling and we are gearing up for that increase in business by
investing in raw materials and some machinery to be able to go the job faster and better. But
at the same time, we are being tested continuously but protectionist policies of the countries
we operate in, supply chain disruptions and cash flow limitations. Rest assured that the
management is backing our every move.
I would like to congratulate everyone who has received 10- and 5-year service awards. And I
hope to see many more of you reach these milestones with us in the future. I would also like to
welcome on board all new employees. Most of all, I hope to see you all succeed with us.
I look forward to taking on the next 12 months along with your support. We must do our best to
stand out from our competitors in providing the best possible service to them who remain
close to our heart within the business. I firmly believe that we can make this year the best in
our relatively short 11-year history, we certainly have the market, skills, tools, and manpower
for it.
Regards
Asif Vorajee

1. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
I would say I am an open book for the most but only a small number of people actually know who am
I. I do take things seriously even though it seems not for the many, I am fond of eating red velvet cakes
and I am sucker for Haribo sweets. My background came from different industries many, many years
ago mainly customer services and shipping prior landing a job here in MTQ as a logistics coordinator.
With tremendous support from my HOD’s, I was able to evolve into what I am now at MTQ Bahrain. It
may come to a surprise to all that I am actually an aircraft mechanic by trade which helped me to grasp
O&G process, products and activities.
2. How has MTQ helped you in your career development?
MTQ has opened my mind to things that I thought it is not possible to become possible.
3. How do you approach each step in your career? Is there any mantra helps you transition to each
new role?
I have been always a full beans person when it comes to work and there is no specific mantra but rather
follow the golden rule in life from Confucius which is “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want other
to do unto you”.
4. What is your biggest fear?
I have no fear as fear is just a test in life to overcome.
5. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
I have no regrets and quite happy with how my life turned into. Every day is a blessing for me.
6. What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Indoor watching movies online and for outdoor going to the beach and soak up.
7. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Sad to say I don’t have one, As chores for me is an outlet to release your tensions and stress in daily
life.
8. If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Having friends & trusted colleagues at work to lean on.
9. What three traits define you?
Aggressive, Passionate & Forgiving.
10. How do you define success?
Success for me is measured with number of downfalls I may have and number of times I get up and
overcome them. These downfalls for me are treated as an opportunity to be a better person as a whole.
